Oh joy, *another* 80s ITV thread for people to get all nostalgic about while forgetting that hindsight is 20:20 and that modern values and expectations didn't apply back then.

That place really needs a "The Archive" sub forum for people to reminisce in.
That’s a great shout actually.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

Not sure if it still has them but the strange Morrisons trial store in Preston (that’s now just a relatively normal one) used to have odd checkouts that sound like the ones described, where your shopping went down one of two lanes to be packed once you’d paid. Each lane had its own conveyer belt tha...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

To be honest, you’re the kind of shopper that most supermarkets want shut of as you’re a drain on resources.

Re: Brexit

So Owen Jones was attacked recently. Clearly wouldn’t wish this on anybody, and nor would the vast majority of us. Straight away the finger of blame was pointed at “the far right” and talk turns to how Brexit has emboldened them to do something like this. Which puts two questions in my mind: 1) I th...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

They regularly use Pacers on the line that stops near me and, I don’t know, they seem alright to me 🤷‍♂️ They get from A to B and are just as reliable than any others, if not more so. Wheelchairs can get on and off. Just.

Re: Brexit

So... are we going to leave with no deal? Is it going to be chaos? I think what we’re seeing now is a game of chicken between BoJo and the EU. I think one side *might* blink before October 31st, but I think there’s more chance of neither doing so. There is clearly some sort of strategy going on to s...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

If we ever manage a Metro meet-up, it should be to drink a beer in the Morrisons Gibraltar cafe.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Some vox pops on the news yesterday about this criticising all these self service tills and I hate pressing buttons myself waah waah waah. Why are people so emotionally attached to the idea of someone sitting there scanning all their shopping when they could just as easily do it themselves? I just d...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Sainsbury’s saddles up with Deliveroo for takeaway pizza trial . I understand the point of trying to utilise hot food counters more, but this wouldn't appeal to me. If you're bothering to get a pizza delivered, I'm sure you could find many better places. And if I wanted a supermarket pizza, I'd rat...

Nope, North West. Maybe it’s picking it up from there though.
