Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10

1803 roll out now seems to be in full swing. The first thing I notice, Paint now has an extra button marked 'Product Alert', which if clicked on tells you that 'Paint will soon be moving to the Microsoft Store. Don't worry: it will still be free to download once it moves there'. And whether or not t...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

We keep seeing random GWR (first branded) HSTs appearing in the sidings in Dundee, presumably being stored before refurbs. They often have one new ScotRail Intercity branded loco at one end and an old one at the other. The ScotRail revamp of the Intercity fleet shows what an incredible train it is,...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

I take it SWR will get those 455s replaced with more ironing board sets? Yep, yet more Aventras. Class 701 is already being knocked up at Bombardier right now and planned to go into service next year. I wonder how many press releases about 'wide gangways' will crop up in their spiel about how brill...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

The emboldened bits here are where I would like to raise a further issue. Just how much longer is diesel electric going to be a viable medium on British railways? I live in a predominantly "third rail" EMU area, but I note from the past few decades that most of the services heading towards the West...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

How long has that branding been ready and waiting in the wings? At least March, but the TM was only filed yesterday. Gone through in a day. The bods at Ebbw Bridge must have LOVED that. Very reminiscient of the new GWR logo, the way the bits point up and down like that. Waiting to see what the new ...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

The East Coast franchise will be nationalised (again) from next month, the current fashion for using pre-BR names continues, this time it will be called 'London & North Eastern Railway' (presumably LNER will be the actual branding used). Not being or travelling in that part of the world very often, ...

How many Asdas have a McDonald's in them? The only one I've ever seen is the one next to the trafford centre.
There is one in Bedminster, Bristol (only 5 minutes walk form a standalone McDonalds too).

Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10

Homegroups are supposed to be gone from this build I think anyway, never used them either. A couple of things to try. Firstly, make sure that network discovery isn't turned off. And secondly, try connecting to the share using the IP address rather than the hostname. Windows has long suffered from ra...

Re: ***THE OFFICIAL ALL NEW SAFEWAY THREAD***

POS now all over McColl's...'Safeway, brought to you from Morrisons, only at McColl's'. Seems a bit confused. I thought the point of bringing back the Safeway brand was so Morrisons could operate as a wholesaler on the quiet without using their own brand outside of their own stores. If their brand i...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

I'm not quite sure of the logic of this tbh. Yes at first glance the idea of merging two of the big 4 together so that they can be a stronger competitor to the other 2 makes sense, but the store count of Tesco is already so far ahead that a merged Sainsburys and Asda still wouldn't come close. And S...
