Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

It's also been put in a couple of newly refurbed McDs here in Sheffield. Works far better than the zones because you don't have to try and work out which zone has spaces first and then dash over to the table. That and it's much easier for the staff to find you.

The only weird thing is there ...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

That looks naff. Who goes into their bank for all that junk - and do they really think they're going to attract people in from Oxford Street with that lot, least of all convert them to Halifax?

I think your average person is with a bank A) because they always been with them, B) because they had the ...

Re: The Co-op Thread

The national group is now allowing MRH to open stores using the actual Co-op brand . I wonder if all those 'Welcome' stores will become Co-ops (if not co-operative Co-ops) in time.

So weird that you should use that link - that particular ESSO/Co-Op branch (for a reason I still cannot fathom ...

Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10

I've had 10 from the launch and find it absolutely fine - performance is better than on 7 and the UI is vastly better than 8/8.1. I'm not so keen on the way it forces updates on you (especially when it breaks older hardware) or the default settings on sending feedback to MS - that at least can be ...

Just out of interest, is there any reason you're not considering Android as an option? (other than the AirPods)

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

There's a couple round here, they're pretty good actually but you can still tell they're a franchise from some of the shelf labels, EPOS systems and the usual weird petrol station junk on sale. Having a Morrisons range is nice but the deals aren't always the same as the main stores - for example the ...

Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10

This seems like a fairly bonkers and overly complex solution but I know how these things can be. Not an expert in EPOS solutions but surely XP is still processing card transactions and therefore must have some contact with the internet in some capacity?

As for Windows 10, what you really want is ...

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain

Have you seen the SunLife advert? "I saw the ads with Parky!" It's like they're acting badly on purpose.

All of these life cover adverts are dreadful. I also despise the British Seniors one where the woman is pottering about trying to look like she's your average woman doing the housework, and ...

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain

The sheer horrendousness of this advert is beyond words:

If you look at their YouTube version they have equally hackneyed and nauseating versions for autumn and summer, all with the same script.

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

There's also a couple of ex-Jacksons store round here that are pretty awful.

The one by my house (Truro Works?), appears to be closing this coming Sunday, which will be annoying as it leaves a fairly big gap where there's no convenience store (except the Spar in the station car park, and that ...
