Re: Bonkers new lift at work

Is this guy serious? I've no problem with people having odd interests (that would be very hypocritical) but what possible interest can you have in a box that goes up and down with some buttons..? And who buys a bigger bike, so they can make more polystyrene snow..? Christ..

Re: things that irritate and annoy you

Talking of awkward fares, First in our area have a £1.95 fare. I mean, really? From where I live, to get to the city centre you pay a fare of £2.40. On one of those utter rotboxes which smell like old ladies, are full of moss, and are filthy (Volvo Olympians, for any bus nuts) http://farm3.static.fl...

Re: things that irritate and annoy you

Our bus services in Sheffield are generally decent to be fair, the buses are usually quite modern - just not around my area, where (First) buses are every half hour and use old scrapheaps to shovel us around. There's a competing service from another local company (TM Travel) which uses more modern b...

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3598/3316343468_ce63638965.jpg If they're the buses you get on your route, I am envious. The buses on a route past my house are usually N reg (1996/1997ish) and one of them today an another route which normally has modern buses was using a J-reg bus (1992!) High floor...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Regarding ASDA's POS systems, I was once in the Handsworth Sheffield ASDA (the Wal-Mart branded one as WillPS mentioned) and there was a brief power cut for about 10 seconds. The tills took around 10 minutes to reboot and reconnect themselves, causing havoc as shopping had to be rescanned and custom...

Re: things that irritate and annoy you

Those loud, ignorant pensioners who seem to pick out faults in the best of situations, and like to make their opinions quite clear, thinking their are superior to all others. I was on the bus a few months ago, when it was snowing heavily. It was a school run so the bus pulled into the school and a f...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

I noticed the same! It's so dated that on their reciepts, there's only about 10 characters of space for product names leaving you wondering what half the stuff you've bought is. The thing is, it integrates fine with the Self Service checkouts and even has that system where you can compare your recie...

Re: Freeview HD Problems

Okay, thanks a lot

EDIT: Don't worry about it ,in fact! I found a firmware update on the Channel Zero website and that has fixed my problems. Thanks very much for the advice!

Re: Freeview HD Problems

Hi, thanks for that information -that's a relief knowing it's nothing to do with my aerial. I've tried to update it but there is no way in the menu to force it to do so, only an option for it to be done manually (when it finds one, show a message to ask if it should update before it does so) or do s...

Freeview HD Problems

I've just bought a Technika Freeview HD box from Tesco at £30 - a bargain, I think! It's not fantastic but nowhere near as bad as reviews make out. Anyway, it doesn't work (yet.) When I tune in, it's telling me I have 95% signal and picks up all channels including HD ones. The SD channels work okay,...

Re: What do you use?

My laptop has:

Intel Core i3 330M 2.13GHz
4GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 325M for gaming or 3D if needed, usually uses the built in Intel X4500 though
Win7 Home Premium 64-bit
15.6" screen
500GB Hard Drive
