Re: New Facebook
I can't quite fathom the idea behind it - why does it want to guess what I might like? If I like something I'll choose myself thankyou Facebook. I don't like that it's combined the chat and mail into one big useless lump as well recently (even though that happened a while back). It was fine as it ...

I'm not 100% clued up on the ins and outs of this story, so I won't judge too strongly - but I'm in full agreement with Dr Lobster - it seems there are two sides to a complicated story, and I'm not 100% sure of what the council are getting out of removing these people, or whether it even begins to ...

Re: McDonalds 1955 Burger;
I find a lot of McDonalds food a bit rubbish (excluding the quarter pounder and their fries) - but KFC is very nice. It might be bad for me but the chicken and the seasoning is delicious so I have it as the occasional treat.

Re: Windows 8
I've managed to heave it onto a virtual machine (I don't fancy attempting to remove the bizarre new bootloader when I'm done and getting the Windows 7 one reinstated) - sadly the VirtualBox video driver won't work with it so it works but not in widescreen and it's a bit juddery.

Re: Windows 8
I'm sorry but ME and 2000 were very different products and fundamentally came from different code bases. ME was a Windows 9x code base while Windows 2000 was under pinned by NT.
Hmm, but surely from a non-techy end-user point of view, that's a kind of meaningless detail?

Re: Windows 8
The good thing is that the system requirements are supposed to be the same, or lower than Windows 7 and that they are using a new hybrid of shut down/hibernate for turning on/off so that process should be much quicker. Good to know Microsoft are making Windows less of a resources hog as they did ...

Re: Windows 8
I'm really not sure if I'm keen on the Metro interface - or the bizarre switch between the Windows standard desktop and it. I wonder how regular problems like Office, Chrome, Firefox, Photoshop, et cetera will be designed into the Metro design?

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain
I cannot tolerate that "New Haribo Supermix" advert with the singing family. Except for the dad, who is a legend. And another thing: Why do they add a second jingle to the end of it?
God almighty, its just awful isn't it. It doesn't scan properly, and its just weird.
And then the Haribo jingle ...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board
Yes, I initially thought it may be JK08 but looking back on his posts, he's posted a couple of decent bits of info that I highly doubt JK08 would ever churn out.
Of course he (she?) was looking for some sort of glory of setting up a popular thread with their name on it - why they feel that way is ...
