Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

Popped into Tesco today and noticed that Coke Zero has had a sneaky redesign in advance of the sugar tax - saw a 2l red bottle (as for whatever reason they've reintroduced those after getting rid of them a few years ago) and assumed it was just normal Coke, only to look closer and see the black band...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

Oooh yes, near where I used to live around a year ago a Family Shopper (a Booker brand)/BP petrol station became a Morrisons Daily. I've not been in but apparently it's a lot nicer than it had been under previous fascias (before becoming a Family Shopper it was a Snax24 and then a Mace) - there's so...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

In the midst of all the talk of the sugar tax recently I bothered to actually check how much sugar is in a bottle of Lucozade Sport and was fairly horrified when I saw how much! As a result I picked up a Lucozade Sport Lite to find that it tasted nowhere near as good. However, is it just me that fin...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

I was in ASDA recently and noticed that at the conveyor belt self-checkouts they had, in the bagging area, there was a label explaining how to convert the entire thing into a much taller shelf-type thing - is this a self-service checkout that can be converted to being manned? If so, do they ever act...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Thankfully, for whatever reason all the TOCs that have ever been in charge of stations on the Great Eastern Main Line were reluctant to deviate from Rail Alphabet too much. ONE perhaps fiddled the most, with the odd station sign written in one of their fonts, along with some directional signs. Howev...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

How fantastic that SkyGeek, having asked to be banned, has signed back up to carry on moaning at members under a different name! It's the kind of scandal TVF hasn't had for years!

Re: Poundland to buy out 99p stores

The B&M in our town centre, which is ex-Poundland and ex-99p stores, is a mildly interesting one from a branding point of view, as B&M have put a little bit of effort in their signage for once. When taking over the store, they painted the window frames, most of the fascia is backlit (although this m...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

What's the average size of an HMV these days? In Ipswich, they've just announced they're moving from their current store on the high street into the shopping centre just opposite, and they're seriously downsizing as a result. They have three floors in their existing building, and whilst they're comb...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

How odd that Tesco have gone back to effectively using the old packaging for their Finest range! I know the current one isn't perfect but I think it's much better than what it replaced (and is being succeeded by!).

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Ah, looks like 'Tesco Display Bold' is the aforementioned font. There's an Express near me that had a refit last year and the font is used for the window vinyls and also above the different areas of the store (Spirits, for example). I know the new aisle signage in the bigger stores uses the new font...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Something I've been trying to figure out recently - is the nice Tesco font where the edges of lots of the capital letters were shaped like the red bars below the Tesco logo still being used anymore? I've been in a couple of stores recently which were refitted fairly recently which use it, but it doe...
