Re: ***THE OFFICIAL ALL NEW SAFEWAY THREAD***

POS now all over McColl's...'Safeway, brought to you from Morrisons, only at McColl's'. Seems a bit confused. I thought the point of bringing back the Safeway brand was so Morrisons could operate as a wholesaler on the quiet without using their own brand outside of their own stores.

If their ...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

This photo, shamelessly stolen from a local Facebook group, shows the Bunnings in Walthamstow - as of this week, a Homebase again.

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Did anyone notice Poundstretchers did buy out part of Poundworld and along with Bargin buys name.

I don't think they bought it, they just started using it. Interestingly it does not appear to have been trademarked until last month, when the administrators registered it . Poundstretcher then ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

If Tesco seriously think they're going to claw back any of Aldi and Lidl's market share with this extremely basic half-arsed effort, they've got another thing coming.

Looking at all the images posted today, Jack's seems to be based on the budget tin can retailer Aldi/Lidl/Netto of 15-20 years ago ...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Here we have my local Homebase before and after the Sep 2017 Bunnings conversion, and after last week's "conversion" back to a Homebase.

Bunnings had the whole fascia painted in their red and green, which I assume they needed special permission for, as the whole retail park has a uniform light grey ...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Mezzanines were removed?

Yep, Bunnings removed the mezzanine from my Homebase in Sittingbourne when they converted it. It was used by Homebase for the kitchen and bathroom showroom areas.

Strange decision to actually decrease the amount of trading space, especially as one of Bunnings' supposed ...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

I don't get why Bunnings only converted 24 Homebases in 16 months. It shows a lack of confidence right from the start, and of course it left the Homebase brand in a state of limbo with their hundreds of remaining stores just acting as placeholders.

Will probably be the bare minimum to cost as ...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

I enjoy shopping around too, but you'd be surprised how loyal people can be.

My girlfriend's mother would never do her shopping anywhere other than Morrisons in Mansfield (even though theres a newer store in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, where she lives). My Mum thinks she's slumming it when she goes ...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

Bit annoyed to discover Pizza Hut have changed it so that you can now only get diet drinks with refills, if you want a regular Pepsi you have to buy a bottle- which costs about 40p more for a single glass than the unlimited refills cost, and you can't add the extra flavours you could with the ...

KFC have added a list of open restaurants.

Mine's on the open list, but this evening didn't have any burger buns, mayo, lettuce, coleslaw, beans or fries. I was told I could have a Zinger burger minus the bun, lettuce and mayo - but at ...
