Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region
If it wasn't for me getting discounted bus travel which is linked to my Oyster card, I would have gone fully contactless by now.
But I use it for rail journeys within London and the fact that the western section of the Elizabeth line is Contactless (and paper tickets) rather than Oyster shows ...

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board
This may well be the dullest pondering I’ve ever seen on the forum.
I wonder what the continuity announcement will be for that last edition, on Channel 5. For the last edition of "High Road" on STV, the announcer said "And now on STV, the very last edition of High Road". It may well be something ...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region
Me and some friends did all nine stations tonight. It really is a marvel. Properly stunning engineering in the stations, genuinely quite breathtaking subterranean architecture, fantastically smooth, quiet journeys in the tunnels. And it just smells new as well, in a way that you don't get from any ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
I get that the point of a loyalty scheme is to encourage repeat custom, but having not been to Waitrose recently, it's a bit of a swizz to remember to look at the app on my way to the shop and find that I've got no vouchers because they don't have enough of a shopping history for me.
I actually ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
MyWaitrose's withdrawal of its free newspaper for "something new" as I think they said is, actually, a return of the exact same personalised offers system that they withdrew around three or four years ago because customers found it "confusing". And they've now made it even more confusing by making ...

Actually that was what I first noticed from him. Merge CBBC and CBeebies but crucially absolutely not BBC World News and the BBC News Channel.james2001 wrote: Tue 01 Feb, 2022 19.38 Looks like you (thankfully) missed his rants on how CBBC and CBeebies should be merged.

Re: TV Live Forum Watch News and Information Board,
Please don't respond to BBCMeridian - I am pretty sure he is a child who takes great satisfaction in being contrary to things most people dislike, both on the forum and YouTube (e.g. Live & Kicking 2000 revamp was better than SMTV, when I imagine he probably isn't old enough to have even seen ...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times
How interesting, I too was wiped out last night a day after having the booster (Pfizer). I was absolutely fine after the first two vaccines which are also higher dosage I believe.

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times
And now someone's actually died from it, expect complete over the top hysteria now. Even more so than we've already been having.
Doesn't matter we've been averaging over 100 covid deaths a day for months, this one death is going to be treated like it heralds disaster.
James I really think ...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread
I noticed Wendy's in Croydon has opened and was busy for a typical pre-Christmas Saturday afternoon, but there wasn't a large queue outside the resturarant.
I can see Wendy's flopping. I think it's trying to position itself somewhere between McDonald's and Five Guys but not sure there's much of ...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times
Oh goody. I’d missed this cheerful thread.
I was strongly against reimposing mandatory masks because, aside from it being demonstrably obvious that they don't do anything
Eh? That's not true at all. Where did you get that one from?
Generally, despite the new opportunity of fearmongering ...
