Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

There’s going to be a few smashed phone screens as customers try to juggle basket, product and phone.

Will be interesting to see how they police this. Will security or someone in store be notified when they’ve scanned the code at the end? You could just pretend to end the shop and march out.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

BBC suggests he could rebrand some as Sports Direct. Which might not be a bad idea if there isn't one already in a location and that HOF isn't doing well. I suppose he could hybridise some too. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-45140874 They'd be bloody massive Sports Directs, even the smaller si...

(Come to think of it, I wonder how many of us joined TV Forum as an enthusiastic teenager and now works in the telly industry? I think there are a few...)
Me, though I’m certain I didn’t post in such a sufferable way when I was 13/14.

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain

Does anyone like the Nationwide poetry adverts? They're not as bad as the Flo and Joan ones but they still make me want to turn over. As I’ve said in this thread before I just cannot comprehend how they could possibly compel anyone to choose Nationwide over another bank/building society. Not only i...

It's also been put in a couple of newly refurbed McDs here in Sheffield. Works far better than the zones because you don't have to try and work out which zone has spaces first and then dash over to the table. That and it's much easier for the staff to find you. The only weird thing is there seems t...

What an extraordinarily disasterous retail saga. Good riddance Bunnings. Awful brand, horrible product; all stores are due to be rebranded back to Homebase.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

I can’t remember if it was this thread where WHSmith was being discussed but their appalling pricing is finally making the news. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-44084638 They’re blaming it on a pricing error but I don’t believe that for a second. £7.99 for toothpaste is entirely believabl...

Platfform zero?? Yes, there are several platform zeroes dotted around, King’s Cross is another example. Normally it’s where an additional platform has been added in a larger station but it’s located nearer to platform 1. It means they don’t have to go to the expense of renumbering all the platforms...

Re: Trinity Mirror & Express Newspapers merger talks

Surely this will mean the end of the People? Given that the Mirror are staunchly Labour it will be interesting to see if they shift the Express away from its right wing, human waste audience, or at least lessen the amount of demonising of minorities its scum readership revel in. Indeed the same goe...
