Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

s.forster has to be one of the most tedious new members to join in some time. Unfortunately he hasn't gotten bored of the site as quickly as they usually do.

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

A rather nice Google street-view around Tesco's refurbished Watford Extra. It's not like your current shop... http://t.co/S0o7jZxn3g And here's a BBC News video on it (well I assume it's the same store). I feel sorry for the poor woman who has to stand with a "here to help" lollipop, looking like a...

Re: 'Windows 8.1'

I have the misfortune of having to use a Windows 8 laptop at work. Truly awful user experience. I normally find it quite easy to use new operating systems but Windows 8 makes the most simple tasks unnecessarily and bizarrely complex. Even shutting it down is particularly difficult. As far as I can s...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Had a look around Kensington and indeed Tooley St recently, both remarkable stores (for Tesco). http://www.groceryinsight.com/blog Kensington High St is a lovely store. The two levels are quite odd for such a small branch (only seen it before in Liverpool One) but it does mean the top floor is amaz...

Man tried making love to an ambulance in Barnstaple bus station he was then spotted on CCTV in a phone box setting light to a packet of peanuts while also punching them. The court heard Ward also approached members of the public who were forced to turn their backs on him and walk away. He then appr...

Are ordinary people actually repulsed by this? Anyone I've spoken to about this have either found it funny or now think that horse tastes delicious.

Re: Long forgotten brands that sank without trace

Does anyone remember Sainsbury's Savacentres? I remember the logo for it was on the Sainsbury's Reward Card alongside the regular Sainsbury's and Homebase ones. I think the V was a tick. I'm pretty sure I went to one in Liverpool as a young child but don't remember it being any different to a regula...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Not in the slightest. Amazon sell the Kindle nearly at cost, they make no money on the hardware. Where they rake it in is by tying you into their ecosystem and buying the ebooks off them. Therefore it doesn't matter where you get the kindle from, be it Tesco or Waterstones or Amazon, you'll still b...

Re: China's gender bias "problem"

Why are they allowed to find out the sex of their unborn children? There are lots of countries which outlaw this practice to prevent "unwanted" females being aborted. Surely this would help restore the natural 51/49% balance? The problem then is that many female babies would be abandoned on the str...
