Re: BBC London 2010 Jingles
I've just noticed you wrote 2010, did you mean 2001 or was there a further update?

Re: BBC London 2010 Jingles
Oh I remember these. I have the showcase of radio jingles somewhere on my hard drive, but back in those days Music4 was called Vibe Music and Audio Imaging, so that's what the audio "watermark" keeps repeating throughout the track.
The four-note motif was the same for both TV and Radio, but the ...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region
I remember being distressed that the old BR liveries were being phased out in 1993 when privitisation occurred, although the old fag packet GWT (not GWR) livery is now a stone cold classic.
I think having ONE LIVERY TO RULE THEM ALL is now a very very bad idea, as we have 1.5 generations of folk ...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
Haven't been to TGI's for years. Last time I went was the big one in Cardiff and it was horrendous. Hour wait for food, one starter never turned up and the cost was beyond even what I would have deemed barely acceptable at Frankie & Benny's.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
On a semi related note:
if coffee chains continue to replace static behind-counter above-eyeline menus (that can be browsed pretty much at leisure while in a queue) with "dynamic" TV screens that rotate between three or four pages 20 seconds apart, one of those pages being a fecking advert, like ...

Re: The TSB & Lloyds Bank relaunch news and information board
I've downgraded my TSB account to just being a landing point for my wages, and we still use it for our joint. A couple of smaller, minor direct debits that I can't be arsed to change still come out of there, but my day to day banking and savings are now with Zopa. Could not turn down those interest ...

Re: The Premier Inn and other chain hotels thread
As a semi-frequent flier needing airport hotels I am a Premier Inn convert having been a Travelodge loyalist - the latter messed us about a little bit despite being initially accommodating (no pun intended) during COVID, and on top of that they closed a lot of their locations.

Slightly offtopic and should probably go on a TV Forum of some kind if there was one around but...

Re: Old supermarket signage
This has probably been mentioned, but on the outside of the Tesco Express in Swindon "town centre" there is an old rounded-edge rectangle sign with Text in the old Tesco font saying "this store is licensed to trade in game"
Would take a picture but no way my phone is coming out of my pocket there.

Got a gut feeling after visiting Saino's earlier that it's not long for this world in its present form.

A lifetime of training in Woolies and Wilko could not prepare me for the Aladdin's cave that is 4-Gott in Göteborg.
