Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10
MacOS is definitely not perfect, but it’s a lot less noisy. I’m still running an M1 16” Macbook pro and it’s still smooth, battery life amazing and no crapware. It’s not for everyone, but it’s considerably more polished than the open source distributions, and a lot less naggy than Windows if all ...

No kidding. Here's a comparison between the last set, and the new ones. I do like the Teams one, I think that's an improvement, but I cannot say that the other ones really represent the application.

Clearly some people are afraid of posting on the site now in fear of getting random warnings.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
I wonder when the first products branded as TG Jones will start to appear. I notice the Christmas decorations and the 2026 Diaries and Calendars are still branded ‘WHSmith’
I wonder if WHSmith branded items will just continue to supply TGJones?
I also wonder if they should have chosen a ...

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain
The problem I have with the ad isn't that it necessarily breaks the rules of a conventional advert, but I just don't think it does the job very well. Sure, it shows the logo, and it does show the product, but the clips have a fast pace, and you don't see the finished product in its packaging, like ...

I also use a VPN (Zoog), but I generally don't have it on for general web browsing; mainly its to use American Netflix. I get the reason for them stopping users from using it, as they have been very clear that they are no longer allowing international users, but most people who care about their ...

Re: The Technology Thread
So, because I have had it with Windows 11, its general bloatedness, the constant advertising, the AI shilling, etc. I have been testing out Linux distros. Currently, I am typing to you using Zorin OS, which is based on Ubuntu, but has similar UI features to Windows. Basically a bicycle with training ...

Ngl, The clarifications and the new rules are well explained, which really was my big gripe. So kudos.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
Asda Aintree has a first floor with travelators which is the whole clothes section I think.
Tesco Extra Southport has a first floor with escalators and it’s the cafe and toilets.
By contrast, Tesco Extra Prescot got rid of its first floor, with the travelator now also removed. I say removed ...

I can't say I am surprised really. Anytime I have been past a Pizza Hut, I have never seen anyone going in. And when I have seen people in there, there wasn't many. I think the last time I ate at a Pizza Hut was 15 years ago. Looking at prices, one has to say £17 for a 9" Pepperoni Pizza is all you ...

Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10
I'll be honest, I have recently been considering a switch to using a Linux distro as my main OS, as I have become increasingly annoyed with Windows 11. I don't like how it's full of advertisements for Microsoft 365, or adverts for Microsoft's partners. I also think that the software is still really ...
