Re: So are Labour on their way out?

We’ve been told that the alternative is unthinkably bad, but nobody has actually explained to me what that is. Perhaps it’s quite ‘thinkably palatable’ compared to the prospect we face. If the banks collapse, everyone loses their deposits. Only beyond the actual capital value of the bank, surely. F...

Re: So are Labour on their way out?

Stewart Lee put it very well: "What kind of creature makes his home an investment opportunity? Only man. Home and investment are not the same thing. Home is a basic requirement of life. Like food. When squirrels hide acorns they are not trying to play the acorn market". No, the squirrels ...

Re: So are Labour on their way out?

Perhaps my prudence was misplaced if I'm now having to pay for those who decided to live the high life! You're not. You're paying to keep the banks afloat, because the alternative would be unthinkably bad. We’ve been told that the alternative is unthinkably bad, but nobody has actually explained to...

Still, at least I don't know if you were being ironic or not. DON'T TELL ME.
Are you selfishly suggesting that everyone should use spoiler tags until such time that you declare you're up to date with everything that has been broadcast, cdd?

Re: So are Labour on their way out?

Tsk - I think I actually answered my own question there, but as I lack the ability to edit I can't back-track and change it! http://www.sympato.ch/smileys/Madpc.gif However, I'm not quite sure why we should all be paying through the nose to cover someone else's debts. I'm the first to admit that dur...

Re: So are Labour on their way out?

You can only feel sorry for the punter who thought - "wow I'm finally on the property ladder - I didn't think I could ever afford it but I finally got it!" Well he couldn't afford it - and the banks knew it but didn't care. I do have sympathy for those who are having their dreams shattere...

Re: So are Labour on their way out?

Indeed it is a sorry reflection on the bugetary mis-managment we now have, that the eletorate who voted for Labour over and over again are complaining, me included (once: 1997).

It's abit late to blame the party-thrower for our excesses, isn't it?

Re: Tesco Image Thread (and other supermarkets)

The thing that fucks us off no end is the liars who phone and claim that items were missing, just because they KNOW that CS will blindy agree and refund. My usual experience has been to receive something I didn't order, or get charged for; quite a few of my friends have had the same bonus! I presum...

Re: So are Labour on their way out?

'Course not, mush . It's this balance that keeps democracies ticking over if you ask me. As Mr Q said a few pages back, the question is not would the opposition do better, it's would they do worse. IMO, if they wouldn't do worse, there's every advantage to elect them. I thought it was a secret vote...
