Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

I think at the very least they could do with different versions for long-distance/local trains. NS do this quite well, I think.

TGI Fridays are to close 16 sites:

I don't think I realised that they've got four branches in Glasgow - all have survived the chop for now. The city centre branch dates back to 1993, and I feel like I've probably not been to any of the branches ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

JS dropped all their fake brands in favour of Stamford Street. Perhaps it's some of those you're thinking of? Or perhaps the earlier "brand at Tesco" brands which existed for a while alongside Everyday Value which were dropped a few years before?

I think you're probably right there. I maybe ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Have they slimmed down the number of fake brands since they were first introduced? It feels like 'Grower's Harvest' is on a fairly wide range of groceries.

fair play to them though - while I did like the simplicity of the Tesco Value brand, the fake brands do feel slightly less basic, even though ...

Fair enough. I'm not as anti-apple as my initial comment sounded. I do think the M series macs are really good computers, but i don't want to be in one ecosystem or another, and i can't justify the price.

Though the M4 Mac Mini at £599 is an essentially unbeatable bang for your buck, from ...

Re: Cooking delivery services

as someone who likes cooking but not meal planning, researching recipes or shopping, I quite like them now and again just to mix things up a bit, and to save having to get a bunch of ingredients you wouldn't otherwise be using. I don't think we've ever paid full price for one, mind.

What I probably ...

AmazonFresh (still clinging on for now?) have doors on their alcohol sections too, but I think that's so they can do their age verification.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

One of the Tesco Extras near me now has their spirits in a glass cabinet where you need to press a button and wait a few seconds for it to open, is it like this anywhere else? I'm guessing they must have had booze stolen and this, somehow, is meant to help prevent it.

I've seen that in various ...

Just saw a TV ad for Halifax bank, with what looked like an updated logo on it - it's no longer stripy and has a new font.

I normally log in to Bank of Scotland's online banking, but had cause to use the Halifax-skinned version of it today, and see that they're still using the old branding on ...
