Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

Was in Aldi and they are limiting 4 items per person. I got 4 semi skimmed long life milk, 4 skimmed and 4 normal, that was allowed! Soups are going down, pasta, no bog rolls. Morrisons was much the same, lot of fresh meat had gone and veg as well.

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

Our little Asda has a notice up outside the public toilets that due to the constant "theft" of bog roll, there is no bog roll in the toilets. If you require bog roll, go to Customer Services and they will supply you with some sheets! LOL!

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Topshop/Man in Westfield Stratford is closing in February. Seems mad that a major, busy store in one of the country's most important shopping centres is closing. I wonder if Arcadia's troubles will be rearing its head again soon. One wonders if this is a rent issue. The question is what happens wit...

Gibraltar is lovely although word of warning, make sure if you have any Gibraltar banknotes, spend them in Gibraltar! I had one and couldn't spend it in the UK and no UK bank would change it!

I'd be fascinated to know how many sales Thomas Cook made in its final few days (travel money aside). Surely it was close to zero?
It was reported that one couple paid the balance of their holiday of £2,700 just before the business closed on the Friday afternoon... in cash!

Re: End of MAY

Just a thought and I don't know if it would be possible. The day before the new leader is announced, could May go to Buckingham Palace and ask for permission to dissolve Parliament trigging a General Election? It is said that the Queen doesn't get involved really in politics and leaves that up to h...

My call would be Friday morning once the EU election results become clear.
Don't think we will know the result until Sunday when the polls close in the EU as they vote on Sunday.

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

I cannot believe anybody involved really thought there was a chance that it might be allowed, without a sale of a quarter to a half of the estate (which is surely the same as blocking any such deal practically). Leaves Sainsbury's in a hole, for sure. I bet one of my local branches are relieved tha...
