Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread
The Tesco self scan setup is by far the best implementation. The Asda system is far from perfect, but a lot of the issues stem from having no loyalty card or similar, as you say. Sainsbury's have no such excuse, yet for reasons completely unknown to me when you register you have to input your email...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread
I was in ASDA recently and noticed that at the conveyor belt self-checkouts they had, in the bagging area, there was a label explaining how to convert the entire thing into a much taller shelf-type thing - is this a self-service checkout that can be converted to being manned? If so, do they ever ac...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
Saw a BT poster at a bus stop yesterday which caught my eye. It was mostly a standard advert for Infinity, but at the bottom beneath the BT logo was the text 'Be There' - are they trying to create a backronym, despite the fact that BT is a VERY well known acronym already? It's been used at the end ...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread
So how super-wet-dreamedly excited would you lot be about this Tesco receipt of my mother's from 1996? Yeah, thought as much. https://up.metropol247.co.uk/nodnirG%20kraM/tesco96.png My internet is a bit slow at the moment and that image loaded as it would have on dial up which I thought was rather ...

Good to read that Morrisons will not adopt 'fake-farm food' brands.

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread
Only ever go in McDs on Paddlingpool station now which is, and probably always will be, old-school counter order. And because I'm a fusspot (and still on a diet) I order the grillled chicken garlic wrap SANS cucumber and lettuce which means I have to wait anything up to 5 minutes for it to be prepa...

Thanks. Didn't know about infrared touchscreens.bilky asko wrote: ↑Fri 28 Apr, 2017 13.27 Incidentally, I believe those IBM touchscreens aren't resistive and are in fact infrared touchscreens.
You could plug in a USB drive into the bottom and browse your files on them too.

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread
As I said- until Tuesday I hadn't been in one that had them for about 10 years. Most stores use modern touch screens instead. I have noticed looking on the Argos website, if you go on the store finder, they do still have "Extra" listed next to some stores- though they aren't distinguished...

Re: The Co-op Thread
I'm hoping (but not realistically expecting) that they will knock a couple of extra windows through some of the building's bricked-up frontage, allowing more daylight into the shop and PO. I've just had a look at the planning application ( 17/00378/A ) and they are not adding any additional windows...
