Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Homebase seem to have launched a brand new advertising campaign based on furniture creating "life improvement", not just "home improvement" - seems an odd thing to do for a brand that's heading for the bin. I read the rebrand will take 3-5 years so presume they don't want to neg...

Re: Independent newspaper closes down

I think that this is only the first newspaper to do this and that in the next 5 to 10 years the others will follow and there will be no physical newspapers at all. Every year the circulation figures are down, people would rather read them online or using an app. We are already seeing local newspaper...

Re: Postal Service

Our mail was certainly sent to Peterborough from Ipswich, even for Ipswich to Ipswich mail as it would come franked: Royal Mail Peterborough! I guess they saw sense that it was stupid sending mail there from Ipswich for Ipswich and all Ipswich mail posted in Ipswich for an address in Ipswich is now ...

Not tried them yet.

Are they all: "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Unexpected Item in Bagging Area"?
Or better: "Unexpected baubles in the bagging area!"

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

Was in Nottingham earlier this week- the M Local in the train station is now a more expensive My Local- so now it's preferable to just go to the Tesco Express accross the road or the Sainsbury's Local down the street. Probably won't last there much longer! I can't see My Local surviving; the Ipswic...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

Going to be another Fresh Xpress then, eh? That only lasted a few months after rising from the ashes of the original Kwik Save. Basically it's a "corner shop" brand like Costcutter with corner shop prices trying to compete now with Tesco Express... which is cheaper so what hope have they ...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

Paid my first visit to My Local this evening... not impressed at all. Shelves still empty, about one third of the store. The branded products have jumped up in price; the own brand Nisa products leave an awful lot to be desired. I mentioned to one of the staff on the till about the product range now...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

I wondered what was going on the other day, went in on Thursday and the shelves were stripped, hardly any Morrison's products on the shelves at all, then yesterday when I came past, they were stripping the store of stock, little trolleys and baskets etc.

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Popped into Asda for a few bits and had my own bag, so did the old add your bag thing. At the end of the transaction I was asked how many bags I purchased! I thought none as I used my own and told it! Just selected zero and finished the sale. Oh anyone know yet when Asda will be upgrading to accept ...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

There is a Tesco Metro in Felixstowe, I think most of the Metro branded ones were the old 1960s (and onwards) stores that many towns had before the big out of town stores. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Felixstowe,+Suffolk/@51.9637546,1.351779,3a,90y,93.61h,92.64t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sEbCE7vOsWV...
