Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10
I keep trying to use the New Outlook in the fear that one day I will be forced to do so but it just sucks. It's so limited compared to the "Old" Outlook, such as it won't let me set up a Quick Step to move an email to a folder in a shared mailbox. However there's no point because multiple times a ...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
I've noticed a few stores have started to get very utilitarian metal displays for produce. On first sight I thought they were left over from the 'misted veg' era but I'm pretty sure they're new.
One of those stores had a self service order terminal for the Pizza Counter, not unlike the ones they ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
If I’m going somewhere local I’ll nearly always just take my phone. I pay for practically everything on Apple Pay so the wallet is just clutter. In the event a shop had a fault I could always nip home and get my card.
If I’m heading to another town I’d take my wallet though as a just in case ...

You could print stuff in ten foot high letters and people would still ignore it.

They’re keeping hold of the travel stores though.
Let’s hope the ...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
I can’t get my head around the need to go to a counter for something that’s available on shelves elsewhere.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
Yeah, I had this happen the other day too. It's definitely new and quite a disconcerting feeling. My Sainsbury's also now has a camera that identifies loose produce when you weigh it, so you don't "accidentally" press the wrong button. It's all making supermarket shopping quite a depressing 1984 ...

Could it have picked up a QR code by mistake? I’ve had that a few times now.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
Can we all at least agree that the people who say “I should get staff discount for using the self checkout” and refuse to use them like it’s some sort of quirky personality trait are the biggest fucking bores that exist?

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
You’re right on that and maybe the timeframe will be longer - but there have been advances. Just Walk Out tech isn’t working right now, but that’s not to say it won’t in some form. Waitrose now let you use your phone as a self scan device - and I believe they were looking at having payment done ...
