Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10
I get the impression that eventually 'new Outlook' will replace 'Outlook Classic'. It looks like Microsoft have a target of April 2026 for this, but will continue to support the 'classic' version until at least 2029. (Annoyingly MS Publisher will no longer be supported from October 2026, but as of ...

Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10
I keep trying to use the New Outlook in the fear that one day I will be forced to do so but it just sucks. It's so limited compared to the "Old" Outlook, such as it won't let me set up a Quick Step to move an email to a folder in a shared mailbox. However there's no point because multiple times a ...

Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10
I almost forgot that Windows 10 was going to be 'The last version of Windows ever'. To be honest, would 'Windows as a Service' have ever worked?
Microsoft have since 'clarified' what was meant by that in that unlike previous releases, development on the next version did not immediately start but ...

Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10
At work we’ll need to pay for extended support, probably just for a year on a few machines as they will be complicated to migrate, no pricing yet last time I checked though.
There is a page quoting prices in USD of $61 for corporate users which has to be bought through volume licencing, and for ...

Re: Windows 9 is now Windows 10
Not long to go now, about 6 months left before Windows 10 goes EOL...and how's everyone's migrations going? Got everyone over now, but looking at a stack of ewaste.
The migration stats are interesting and worrying (all stats are UK stats from statcounter. US and EU stats are similar, world picture ...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread
Barclays Taunton...a branch refit apparently will take 3 months.
Good job they're closing early on the Friday for the builders to get a head start, with such a limited timeframe they need every minute they can get!

Re: Emergency alerts
Looks like the first actual one has just been sent out over Storm Darragh. Just like the tests, some people didn't get it
Edit - turns out there have been a few before.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
Almost wondering how long before Asda ends up in here, with the total mess it's ending up under the Issa brothers.
It does beg the question, are the big four too big to fail? The repercussions of Asda going bust would be seismic for the UK and would lead to areas without proper food provision ...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
Since these days so many (most?) First Buses carry route-specific liveries anyway, not really sure how much impact a new corporate brand will have now vs if it was done 10 years ago. Also seen nothing about a wider rebranding of FirstGroup as a whole. Are they going to use two logos at once?

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
I'm sure it's far from unique, but saw my first triple-branded Smiths store last week in Taunton now they're making a big deal of their Toys R Us concession, and this store with a Barclays-branded cash machine to boot too. Doesn't look cluttered at all!
