Re: Baffling local news stories

Why is this categorised as "Scottish news"? It's about Fatty from the Beano's Bash Street Kids being renamed Freddy (for political correctness reasons, no doubt). Beano isn't only sold in Scotland, so this is national news, not local. https://www.sundaypost.com/fp/bash-street-kids-fatty-fr...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Doesn't surprise me. At my local Asda, they never seem to have more than a quarter of the checkouts open. If that's the norm, it's no surprise to find that some branches have cut down the number of them.

Yeah, we know that the servers can cope with any demand, thankfully. Nobody wants connection issues on a big news day.

Well it didn't take long for someone to get banned, I see. Two weeks for constant spamming in a gallery thread.

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

I thought people would talk about how odd it was that they were getting rid of their most popular sections and about how short notice the news was. Instead, people st...

Waitrose to ditch magazines with plastic toys stuck to the covers. That's basically every kids mag except the Beano gone from their shelves then.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

That's true. I saw an advert in a newspaper for Morrisons, and it said certain eggs were 75p, including a Mars one that includes a full size bar plus an egg. You would normally pay 75p for the Mars bar on it's own, so that egg is definitely being sold below the RRP, and probably at a loss.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

So Wilko is selling those easter eggs at a loss? How can they charge £3 when it costs £5 to buy them from the manufacturer?
