Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

That'll change when the Virgin Money takeover goes through. I can't see them keeping branches of both open long term if they're close to each other. Probably the reason their promise is only to 2026, two years from now.

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

Nationwide's ad campaign has been banned by the ASA for claiming that they weren't closing branches when they are.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Why would a reopened store need a temporary sign? Wouldn't the old one usually only be taken down when someone else takes over the premises? If this one was a Wilko before and has just been closed since the chain went bust, it shouldn't need a new sign, as the old one should already say Wilko on it...

Unfortunately, yeah, the site wasn't archived well at all. Even if the gallery pages exist, there's a lot of missing images.

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Virgin as in Virgin Money, formerly Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, surely? It's not the same Virgin as five years ago. Their cards are Mastercard Debit.

As for Electron, they meant Visa Debit.

Caused by a third party mis-reconfiguring something, apparently.

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

Looks like Virgin Money is going to be disappearing over the next few years. Nationwide strikes deal to buy Virgin Money for £2.9bn My debit card is due for renewal in 2026, after the previous Yorkshire Bank one was replaced early due to the rebrand. I wonder if this one will also end up being repl...

Nothing wrong with the policy though. If it has the TV Ark logo on it for example, and it's not from TV Ark or it's associated social media channels, then of course it should be removed. That watermark they use is there for a reason.

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

I’m not convinced anyone actually bought pick n mix from Woolworths to be honest. It was just there. You'd be lucky to get a look in for a scoop in Nottingham on Saturdays or during half term, the place was always full of kids filling up cups on their way to the cinema and whatnot. Wilko was the sa...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Could Woolworths be revived? The operator of the German Woolworth stores has the trademark for all of Europe and is considering opening stores in the UK.
