I'm still trying to work out quite when referring to your phone as a 'mobile' disappeared from the current vernacular.
Probably when most people ditched their landlines. No need to disambiguate if you only have a mobile handset and no home landline, so people started just calling their mobile ...

Could this be similar to, or even because of, the Cloudflare outage a few days ago? TV Home Forum works fine now, it's the same locked archive it's been for the last four years.

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

Stagecoach could have been more informative about their route changes in Hull last weekend. Service 350 says "In Hull Interchange the service will depart Bay 34 instead of Bay 10." No other routes say anything about bay changes, even though there definitely are other changes as service 13 is the one ...

Until six years ago it was a different font. You're right, the current one does look the same as Radioshack's.

I'm sure people use those to buy a newspaper to read during a train journey or flight. They're definitely overpriced on everything other than newspapers and magazines though. But of course they have you by the short and curlies. You don't have time to go elsewhere when you're at the train station or ...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread

Just got a pleasant surprise in the post. Two days ago I visited a Virgin Money branch to request a new debit card as my current one wasn't working in certain third party ATMs (it was being spat back out without even letting me enter the pin due to the black stripe being damaged - it worked fine in ...

An advert in today's newspapers revealed a new logo for Twix. Apparently it was introduced in the US last year.

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

Subway up my end went from 4 locations down to none (there is still one listed on the Subway website but it's long been closed).

I also note that the formerly burgeoning Papa's Fish and Chips has cut back locations quite a bit (down to just seven now). One of the most recent closures is in ...
