Re: Another High Street Rebrand
Until six years ago it was a different font. You're right, the current one does look the same as Radioshack's.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
I'm sure people use those to buy a newspaper to read during a train journey or flight. They're definitely overpriced on everything other than newspapers and magazines though. But of course they have you by the short and curlies. You don't have time to go elsewhere when you're at the train station or ...

Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread
Just got a pleasant surprise in the post. Two days ago I visited a Virgin Money branch to request a new debit card as my current one wasn't working in certain third party ATMs (it was being spat back out without even letting me enter the pin due to the black stripe being damaged - it worked fine in ...

An advert in today's newspapers revealed a new logo for Twix. Apparently it was introduced in the US last year.

Comet didn't even survive that year, closed in 2012. Given that's the option marked in the screenshot it seems you got vouchers that probably became worthless before you could spend them!

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread
Subway up my end went from 4 locations down to none (there is still one listed on the Subway website but it's long been closed).
I also note that the formerly burgeoning Papa's Fish and Chips has cut back locations quite a bit (down to just seven now). One of the most recent closures is in ...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region
I'm glad I wasn't planning on using the buses today. Rioters have attacked a hotel that's next to the transport interchange, resulting on it and the surrounding area being put on lockdown and no buses running. Hull is paralysed. Probably not the only place either as these anti-asylum seeker riots ...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread
I note the bonus card needs you to scan 10 codes within about a month to get the extra points. Seems they've given up pretending McDonald's should only be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet.
That's why I ignored that promotion. I only use McDonalds once a fortnight usually, simply because I only ...

Re: There an election this year.....
Indeed The Sun have endorsed Labour at the 11th hour. I wonder how long that front page has been waiting in the wings for 'Time for a new manager (and we don't mean sack Southgate' reads awfully like the big sports news is supposed to be England out of the Euros, but we're still (somehow) in them ...

Re: There an election this year.....
Whilst I hate the paper, I'm a little surprised the S*n haven't endorsed anyone yet. Which suggests, they're expecting a Labour victory but aren't feeling too strongly about endorsing them.
There's reports The Sun will never endorse Labour with Starmer as leader when he was DPP during the ...
