Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

West London is something of an Aldi desert - Lidl have stores in Acton, Hammersmith and She Bu (and have for ages). Leytonstone's Matalan closed recently and seems like it's going to be half M&S Food; half Aldi, though the council have longer-term ambitions to turn it into housing. In Sydenham,...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

Anyone know what sort of pay people get with Deliveroo and the rest? I guess it must be worth it but I couldn’t be arsed. Deliveroo drivers are paid based on orders and distance along with extra pay where there are more orders. I've watched gig economy workers post what they do on a shift and some ...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

The McDonalds in Penge during their refurb built a segregated delivery pick up area to the side of the restaurant as they had so many drivers hanging around taking up tables from paying customers who wanted to eat in. Other chain restaurants such as Nando's also have put segregated pick up points to...

Someone had posted a branded poster on Twitter mentioning Cash Only, but it was clearly one from a previous incident as it also claimed that SmartShop was working when it wasn't.

All back to normal since around 7pm.

Credit to my nearest Sainsbury's for the detailed information. https://up.metropol247.co.uk/Martin%20Phillp/GIzL-9LWEAAee-t.jpg The self-checkouts were open, although I did notice when I scanned my Nectar card that the till froze for around 10-15 seconds, but was accepted and got Nectar prices on a ...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread

Due to an overnight software update, Sainsbury's aren't able to accept contactless payments, which is affecting online delivery orders as well as in-store contactless payment. SmartShop is also down according to customer reports on social media with some stores only accepting cash. However they're s...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

I thought Brixton might survive considering the gentrification of the area, but it along with Lewisham are closing. (The latter is in the Lewisham Centre which is expected to be demolished for a mixed housing and retail complex).

Worth noting that the A25 also supports O2's new 'Standalone' 5G service which is now in some cities.

Re: The Technology Thread

I feel that is going to happen to me as the more I think about it I'm drawing the conclusion that an A25 will do me just fine whereas I had always previously thought I couldn't live without an S series handset (extending to the point of buying the S10 in the first place when it had already been rep...
