Re: What's the deal with digital radio station on-screen nam

As I understand it, the short 8 DLS used on DAB is made up by selecting 8 letters from the full 16 letter DLS rather than it being a seperate label. I imagine most stations will want that 8 letter DLS to match their RDS to be consistant on DAB Car Radio's switching between DAB and FM, and for listen...

Firstly, don't use tables for layout.

Secondly, Dreamweaver uses relative paths, with works great when uploaded to the web, but messes up when viewed locally on your computer. Try uploading it and see if it works then.

I haven't seen it, but I never look the net for these sort of things. Appariantly my dad has seen it though, what ever happened to sending it to me.

Some routers (such as mine) also record all the PC's names and the IP addresses it has reserved from them on it's admin panel. I have also seen software that will work on some setups enabling you to see who is on your network, block things to them and send the messages telling them to get off.

I wouldn't downgrade MySQL. Sounds like one of MySQL's settings (or several of them) are seriously mis-configured. I would try reinstalling MySQL as a starter to see if it helps.

Yes, PHP5 can be a pain, especially with phpBB. Try selecting MySQL 3.x, this tends to work. As for MySQL 4.x, I've never got that to work with phpBB, despite that I'm using it.

Had it for a few weeks now, bloody excellent. I love zooming in to the Dome and the London Eye. You can also see my house and school in Soham from the sky.

I've been with them since 2001 back in the Freeserve days. I never did understand the change to Wanadoo. It should have just been left Freeserve (which sounds like a British name) or should have changed to Orange skipping Wanadoo.

The DS moderating team are very strict, especially Beth Hart. So far, out of my 400ish posts, I have not yet got in trouble. I suppose, with a site of that size and popularity, you have to be that strict to avoid it getting out of control. I suppose the warnings from radio stations recently requesti...
