Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
Meadowhall store yesterday, down to the last scraps of stock: https://up.metropol247.co.uk/woah/thumbs/Deb1.jpg https://up.metropol247.co.uk/woah/thumbs/Deb2.jpg https://up.metropol247.co.uk/woah/thumbs/Deb3.jpg Certainly brought it home that it's finally going - this was actually quite a nice store...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
Looks like a Diebold Nixdorf self checkout instead of NCR - never seen Tesco use them before. Perhaps a trial?

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
It does look a bit meh doesn't it. I also like that this brand new store has ancient IBM EPOS equipment found in the nearest skip (or more likely recovered from another store closure) They run their card terminals seperately to their EPOS system now so I assume they hit some technical limitations. A...

After Next removed their garden range from their Home stores that had it (which happened a couple of years ago) it looks like they've partnered with Homebase to fill the gap left in the stores: https://www.retailgazette.co.uk/blog/2021/04/homebase-opens-shop-in-shops-in-next/ And - it looks like a r...

Another new year rebrand, this time from Kia: https://admin.itsnicethat.com/images/ODJMhRGN-h9KAOfHJKFeqVxGPg8=/198085/format-webp%7Cwidth-1440/kia_rebrand_graphic_design_itsnicethat1.jpg https://www.itsnicethat.com/news/kia-logo-rebrand-graphic-design-060121 I think the new logo looks pretty smart.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
I do wonder how Debenhams let it get to this point. We don't know all the details of course, but you have to wonder how many of their stores were loss making and falling to bits - and dragging the whole brand down as a result. Why not focus on the stores that do make a profit, invest in the ones wit...

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain
Is it just me wondering why watching a virtual Rita Ora trod around some London landmarks through an iPhone is something anyone would want to do? You have to wonder if they're trying to think of cool new things you could do with 5G given there aren't really any compelling reasons at the moment. http...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
Has anyone else got the new style self scan interface on the scan as you shop checkouts? Instant transfer from the guns, readable receipts will *full product names*, and a much simpler set of buttons on the screen. Yes - there's a rating screen at the end so I assume they're trialling it on scan as...

Starling Bank have updated their logo, with a slightly revised icon and new font. It doesn't seem to have made its way through to all elements yet - the app has the new icon but it's not been updated anywhere within the app or on the card design. Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
The Argos in Sheffield city centre remains closed, however I’ve seen that you can do a click and collect at a nearby Sainsburys Local. Is that a recent thing? There is a concession in the one on The Moor now - perhaps that's why Angel Street is still closed. I think the ability to collect from Sain...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
The former B Works unit. It looks like B customers are the first to transition to Virgin Money, which is really just a re-branded version of B anyway and seems to be using the existing Yorkshire/Clydesdale Bank infrastructure in favour of the Virgin one, presumably because the old Virgin current acc...
