Re: Metropoll Watch

Exit polls can some time get the result wrong. In tuesdays Daily Mail Richard Littlejohn wrote a good article about his memories of the 1987 election in which the BBC exit poll predicted a Labour Party win, and in 1992 the BBC's exit poll predicted a hung parliament.

Re: Metropoll Watch

The polls that you are mentioning Isontine have been conducted on a UK wide basis, and therefore include areas where the Tories don't get much support. The vast majority of seats where this election will be decided are in England.
What is the latest situation with regards to England only polls, and ...

Saint George's Day.

A very Happy St. Georges day from me to users of this forum, yes even those of you who are not English.
By the way I also believe that there is nothing wrong with celebrating St. Patricks day, St, Davids day and St, Andrews day.

Re: Metropoll '10 EXIT POLL #2 12th April

I find it strange that the Conservatives got the highest number of votes in last week's poll, given that support for them throughout the various threads is not exactly prominent. Not sure what that suggests, other than perhaps those who oppose them are more vocal than those who don't.

Its ...

Re: The Budget

Most people what a hung parliament, so it doest really matter we want:

Re: The OFFICIAL* Metropoll election sweepstake

unelected prime minister

You don't elect a prime minister, so all of them have been unelected. You elect a party. Whoever leads that party is nothing to do with the electorate. [idealism] A party lays out a manifesto for its parliament, and whoever leads the party should adhere to that manifesto ...

Re: The OFFICIAL* Metropoll election sweepstake

i think the best we can hope for is a hung parliament. the tories with any sort of majority... well, bye bye.
Opinion polls that have shown the gap between Tories and Labour narrowing ( there was a poll recently that put the gap at 7% ) are conducted on a UK wide basis.
As Andrew Neil has ...

Re: City Talk - don't feel like talking as much...

RadioCitytalk is a waste of time in my view. Currently they have speech based programmes at breakfast time and 4pm to 7pm. The rest of the time it consists of music some commercials and pre-recorded news updates every 20 minutes.
It would be better if the transmitter on 105.9 FM was turned off and ...
