Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
A review of the new "Market Kitchen" concept in a Leeds branch of Morrisons - basically lots of funky street food hot takeaway counters. https://youtu.be/ze6tCcJP1Gk It certainly looks exciting, and the graphics on the signage are fantastic, but there's no way I can see anything like this ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
The demise of Jack's reminds me of the failure of the Bunnings stores under Homebase's previous ownership. In both cases, only a dozen or so stores were converted to the new brand name and format, and there was no nationwide ad campaign to promote the brand (because the small number of stores didn't...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread
Has anyone tried the McPlant Burger, I've managed to try most of the vegan or vegetable options at the likes of Burger King and KFC but the McPlant has eluded me. No but I'm desperate to try it. I've watched loads of YouTube reviews of it, and they're overwhelmingly positive. I love how it's loaded...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread
So just the 5 apps for me to keep swiping between to maximise my consumer discounts while wandering around Sainsbury's: Smart Shop, Nectar, Green Jinn, Shopmium and Checkout Smart. Oh, and Sainsbury's have recently announced they're scrapping the Nectar Double Up event which usually takes place in N...

I just received my replacement Halifax debit card in the post and it's got the old branding (as below), 2.5 years after the new logo started appearing on TV ads. The card expires in Nov 2025, so a 6.5 year wait for the new logo to find its way onto my card! https://up.metropol247.co.uk/rdobbie/33024...

Re: Fuel situation in your area
Not since the early days of COVID have I seen so many emergency signs/notices created at individual store level on A4 paper in Calibri font (a terrible font for signs because it's too thin to be read from a distance). It wasn't great when these A4 notices were stuck to shop doors saying "use ha...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
Morrisons receipts are still inexplicably featuring the More Card points balance which became null and void on 9 May 2021 when points ceased to be awarded.
It must be an irritating reminder to people who were just shy of hitting the 5k redemption threshold when the axe fell.

This documentary by Iceland is an absolute belter for supermarket history enthusiasts.
Loads of high quality archive material, thanks to Iceland's in-house archive collection. Very impressive and fascinating.

Going back to Lobster's original question, I think defamation lawyers do a fair amount of digging on the wealth of their target and then tailor their claim accordingly. About 18 years ago I was a "domain name consumer activist". I had a genuine grievance with a global oil company regarding...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread
So, as of today, Morrisons are no longer giving loyalty points, although the More card scheme will continue to exist in app form, providing "personalised offers". This also means that Morrisons joins ASDA as a major fuel retailer that doesn't give loyalty points. Their Morrisons Miles card...
