Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread
Wow, I have often wondered how many 'old-school' McDonald's (and KFC / Burger Kings) are still in existence in this country. I know there are a few left overseas but companies seem to be pretty quick at keeping their restaurants up to date over here. Sofia in Bulgaria was full of very old school br...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread
Found another rare (at least in London) McDonald's in Victoria Station with old school non-digital menus above the counter and no screens at all or even app service. The menus were still very much up to date with the Monopoly promo across them. Had a bit of vibe of printing CD booklets in the age of...

Re: Paywalls
The most galling one is the Mirror website saying in order to reject cookies you need to pay. Who is going to do that? I just close the article and go somewhere else. Realistically no one will pay for it but the point is to essentially force you into agreeing to accept cookies if you want to read t...

When I was a kid we had some lamb chops go through the till at Sainsbury's for several hundred pounds. If only the clickbait internet existed back then, we could've monetised our terrible misfortune.thegeek wrote: ↑Mon 12 Aug, 2024 20.26 excellent work by Asda here:

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread
They're fitting out a new Sainsbury's Local between Shoreditch and Liverpool St, or at least I think it should be a Local as it seems to have no depth, but the signs in the windows so far are suggesting it's just "Sainsbury's". Possible phasing out of the Local brand? It did make me wonde...

Why does the Glasgow Subway still, in 2024, only operate between 10am and the very specific time of 18:12 on Sundays?

Re: There an election this year.....
On the eve of the big day I've really tried to rack my brains over what I'd count as genuine lasting achievements the Conservatives have made over the last 14 years. Honestly, the only things I can think of are carrier bags charges (though that was the Lib Dems in coalition), gay marriage, £2 bus fa...

Re: There an election this year.....
D Day has got to be Sunak's "bigoted woman" moment right? An absolutely extraordinary own goal of monumental proportions. That image of Cameron with three actual current world leaders is quite something. There's four more weeks but surely, surely it can't get worse than this?! Labour were ...
