Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
I noticed in the run up to Christmas that The Entertainer has started opening on Sundays for the first time. I assumed that might have been an indication that they might be on the rocks a bit but turns out the family that owned it transferred full control to an employee owned trust who then pretty ...

Re: Cooking delivery services
Hello Fresh are going seriously heavy on new year promotions this year. They've been assaulting me with more 50% off offers, ads all over the tube, apron-ed leafleters giving out 60% offers in the street, endless TV ads. Don't remember this much coverage last year.

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
The weird WHSmith/M&S Food hybrid on Tottenham Court Road remains WHS branded. I think it's technically a hospital shop within hospital property, despite it very much presenting as part of the high street, which probably explains why it continues.

Re: Cooking delivery services
For some reason Hello Fresh won't stop giving me 55% off deals so have got them a few times simply because it's been cheaper than buying equivalent meals. I always cook from fresh and don't have ready meals so there is an appeal for me in terms of cutting out the time I'd spend going to the ...

Tescos with mezzanines are everywhere, it’s the other ones I’m more interested in!Philip wrote: Sun 26 Oct, 2025 15.16 Asda Aintree has a first floor with travelators which is the whole clothes section I think.
Tesco Extra Southport has a first floor with escalators and it’s the cafe and toilets.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
I went to Sainsbury’s Charlton for the first time and noticed there was a first floor level that only had a Specsavers on it. Made me realise I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Sainsbury’s, or indeed a Morrisons, with a Tesco style non-food mezzanine with travelators. Do any exist?

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
In terms of Express stores the Bethnal (Green) one in London has 1969.

Can't remember if I've mentioned this branch before but it's a very large Express. I'd argue it should be just a regular, though small, superstore given the range is much bigger than ...

Brewdog closing 10 pubs. The Shoreditch one has been closed for at least 2 weeks due to 'technical reasons' so chances are the others were closed too. I went to the Dundee one a few months ago and it seemed remarkably small compared to their regular branches.

Have you seen they've quietly launched YouTube Premium Lite in the UK (actually specifically GB for some reason) for £7.99, the main difference being you don't get the music streaming or ad free music videos, or downloads and background playing.

Each to their own. I just wouldn’t go out with only one method of paying, regardless of which one.
But why? Why carry around clutter all the time just on the off chance an extremely rare, once in a blue moon event like this happens? Not being able to buy a bag of shopping isn't exactly the ...

Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region
It never fails to amaze me how people can look at the success of Oyster and contactless in London and then come up with something quite so customer-unfriendly in response.
22 years Oyster has been available for now and still most of the country lags behind on even contactless. I was surprised ...
