The public have never been trustworthy when it comes to gadgets, viz:

"Listen to this great stereo" = mono audio coming through two loudspeakers, one of which has a shattered cone.

"I get perfect reception with an indoor aerial" = except when I move about the room and get atrocious ghost images ...
