Re: Intu takeover called off

There is no chance Lakeside, Trafford, Metrocentre or even Merry Hill are at risk medium term. These are the centres with a future, and will easily find a buyer. It's the town centre ones, including the now semi-permanently half demolished Broadmarsh, which I see as far less certain. Eldon Square i...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

Likewise I didn't like the letters, so had to find something that would fit in a circle. Animated avatars need to be ejected though. I wasn't surprised by who had the first animated one though. I believe Mouseboy's was an animated one prior to the forum refresh. To be honest I even find the default...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

Asa's bringing up of the original Come Fly With Me thread has shown just how opinions have changed over the past 10 years. For instance, in the original CFWM thread, trivialmatters posted: https://tvforum.uk/forums/post694572#post-694572 As for Matt Lucas 'blacking up' to play Precious, I don't thi...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

He happened to link to an article by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists that mentioned coronaviruses. I'm not sure we want them to be too accurate on their predictions, seeing as their doomsday clock has it as 100 seconds to midnight... This sort of lying is perhaps a good indication that the Cadwall...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

I enjoyed this complete non-sequitur of a wrestling reference from cityprod: He won't be resigning. Very worrying though if they use a daily national health briefing for this. I suspect it'll go as well as yesterday. I tend to agree here. This government has not generally followed the usual playboo...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

Someone tracked down the origins of the "his son is Autistic" story. https://twitter.com/jamiemcleod02/status/1264731537913925632 According to them it was started by a right-wing twitter account, and when asked they claimed they heard it on LBC, then admitted they hadn't (and, indeed LBC never broa...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

Many families have been in the same situation but have followed the rules as they were told to. Autistic child or not, he specifically stated he didn't consider options for childcare in London before deciding to drive to Durham. That's not him weighing up the options, that's him ignoring the option...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

There is the slight problem that when Jennie Harris was referring to exceptions for moving, she continually refers to "safeguarding" - that is a word with specific meanings, and potentially needing childcare isn't one of them. First he rushed home to help his ill wife, who was showing symptoms of c...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

Of course, Twitter had a collective orgasm over Beth Rigby screwing her face up at Dominic Cummings. As it was, it felt like she'd not actually listened to what was said properly, and missed out on asking some pertinent questions just to get in the question of resignation in first. Ultimately, it se...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Ultimately the colour preference is entirely aesthetic. There's no difference in flavour: American consumers prefer white shells, we prefer brown.

I'm not 100% sure if the limit in Sainsbury's has increased to £45, but I'm sure I recently did a £31 shop using the SmartShop POS using Google Pay.
You're thinking of the contactless card limit. The Google Pay and Apple Pay limit at Sainsbury's is £999.
