Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Oh I got an email from Peugeot about their new logo and completely forgot to post it. They've since taken away the weird preview page the email was directing to and just updated the rest of the site. https://twitter.com/fabianarbor/status/1365279849129136129 More guff: https://www.dezeen.com/2021/0...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

The problem is that an increasing number of debit cards are set to decline in an offline situation - and it's not easy for the holder and the retailer to understand which cards these are as they no longer carry any differentiating markings. I have a dozen or so active debit cards and I honestly don...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

They're trying to encourage retailers to move to having a mobile-based terminal for DR purposes rather than doing anything offline, I imagine making poor shop workers write out click clack slips by hand is considered acceptable collateral for them. In that instance though it was Visa themselves tha...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

There's also a much improved debit card design, which confusingly doesn't feature the new logo: https://us.v-cdn.net/6031891/uploads/editor/gn/hj52gyjea3dc.jpg Oh I got my new vertical TSB card. I see they're phasing out the 3D numbers, not sure whether they've just noticed nobody uses clackity imp...

indeed... the red doesn't quite work. might have to have a think about that
If you eyedrop one of the more salmon-y tones from the logo it looks better I think - try #c56767.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

So Wilko is selling those easter eggs at a loss? How can they charge £3 when it costs £5 to buy them from the manufacturer? Wilko isn't a franchise partner. I think the conclusion is supposed to be that Wilko wouldn't sell them at a £2 a piece loss, so they must be on more favourable terms as a who...

Re: I still don't get twitter

Twitter for me is a place to go and have a look at some weird/old retail shite.

People keep telling me they use it for porn, I've honestly never seen any on there.

I guess you can make what you like of it.

Carbuncle’s Televisual Corner has a certain ring to it.

Nah seriously, it’s weird to think the site won’t exist in its current form. I say we bring back the IRC chat room for the last day.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

My mental picture of Debenhams is still their Glasgow branch in the mid 90s, which had a confusing layout and was lacking in obvious exit signs. There's probably still people trying to leave now. The Nottingham one is similarly disorienting, uneven levels with short sets of steps everywhere, quite ...
