Re: The Barclays and other non-Lloyds/TSB Bank thread
When a tenant moves out they will, subject to the terms of the lease, have to return the building to the condition it was in when they moved in or negotiate a settlement figure for the dilapidations. Most businesses will provide for these over the years of the lease but I think it's only allowable ...

Having gigabit broadband would certainly have been a lot more useful to me during Covid times when I was working from home a lot more (in a job that required quite a bit of streaming video). It's less of an issue now and I reckon a few hundred meg would do me fine, though having a symmetrical ...

Given Cambridge has been sold to Poundland I'd imagine the existing Poundland, a few doors down, will close. The store they've bought is across three floors and is in a unique building for the street. I can't recall who the tenant was before Wilko.

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread
The pharmacy in my local store had already closed. They've now removed the pharmacy space and extended the aisle. As a result half the store has been moved around.Martin Phillp wrote: Sat 17 Jun, 2023 13.44 June 13th was the last day for the remaining Lloyds Pharmacy concessions in Sainsbury's.

I hadn't even considered any possible resemblance until I'd seen the story.

I heard that you can opt out of the system so if it does get used unnecessarily that will immediately happen.

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake
Argos are pulling out of Ireland. All stores to close by June.
I had forgotten about the Irish operation. Given how few stores in the UK have been spared from being combined into anm Sainsbury's it isn't a surprise. In addition the cost of servicing those stores with stock must be expensive - I ...

Speaking of coupons. I wish Tesco would fix their tills so that coupons on the clubcard app don't need you to wiggle a bit of paper in the slot to make it register.
Also I noticed when I used SAYS on a NCR till the other day (so I could throw some cash in) it managed to unscan my clubcard I'd ...

Re: E-bike rental
TfL recently introduced e-bikes in addition to their standard pedal bikes. They cost £1.65 for 30 minutes and still have to be taken to a docking station.
Ah I didn't read this properly. I thought this was pedal bike. Clearly an e-bike is going to incur a premium. The TfL pricing model clearly ...

I haven't used any of these services as they don't exist in my town but I was surprised by the charge. 21p a minute feels likes the cost would quite rapidly build up if you are using them frequently or for long periods.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
I think Braintree has one supermarket doing 10-4, another 11-5 and another 12-6. I think Oxford Street in London is focused at the later end of the day but I might be wrong.
