Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Also Pay at Pump has no obvious contactless hardware. My new Clubcard arrived today and it mentioned in the leaflet that tapping and scanning at some Pay at Pumps won't be available until later in 2017, so the machines must be getting a hardware upgrade. No idea if that'll bring Contactless technol...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38066990 Morrisons will re-introduce the Safeway brand to put on products it will sell wholesale to independent convenience stores as part of a 'capital-light' strategy to continue trying to find a place in the convenience sector, a year after they pulled out of i...

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

Chaos at Asda yesterday. They couldn't take card payments. Cue abandoned trolleys and a rush on the ATMs. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2079105/asda-shops-not-accepting-card-payments-leading-to-massive-queues-in-stores/ Having previously worked for a large supermarket chain for a number of years an...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

An interesting article (and video) featuring the remnants of Edinburgh's BHS store from BBC News: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37177993

Sad set of circumstances but great opportunity to flatten another awful 60s-design building in Edinburgh city centre.

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

First post here, so hello. My local Co-op had a full internal refit just under a month ago, and they've been back to amend the frontage. Sadly, it's a hideous halfway house. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7619/26772838204_766a3d11b5.jpg One-off or more to come like this? EDIT: now with image, apolo...

Re: Very local chains

One that springs to mind around these parts is Scotmid (Scottish Midland) Co-operative. Largely separate from The Co-operative Group but still connected in some way. 350 stores across Scotland, NI and the north of England according to their website. I know in Edinburgh we have a strange situation wh...

Yep, see above.
Ah, rookie forum error on my part.

I still can't log in. Sent an email through the Contact Us section but not heard anything back as of yet.

Anyone else locked out of their TV Forum account? I changed some details on my profile and I haven't been able to log in since.

I've tried to reset my password but no email has come through.

Re: The Tesco & Other non-Morrisons Supermarket Thread

In my experience, if a chip can't be detected, there are capabilities for it to be put through manually using 'the old-fashioned' way. That includes on the Self Service tills. Whether it's actually done or not I'm not sure. International cards regularly don't have chips so automatically revert to si...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

On the subject of RBS, my branch in Edinburgh has new signage sporting a new logo. The arrows remain but 'RBS' has been replaced with 'Royal Bank of Scotland'. I'll try and get a photo in the next couple of days, but imagine the old logo with a new font. The branch featured on an RBS advert a coupl...
