Re: New old games
The underrated Mario 35 release is Super Mario All Stars (1993) on Switch-SNES. I’ve spent so long playing the originals that I’d forgotten how much better that remake was.
I have fond memories of the SNES All Stars, so looking forward to giving that another go soon.
Today saw the launch of ...

Re: New old games
So Mario All Stars came out for the Switch?
I am tempted but really disappointed that two of the three games run in 4:3 ratio...
That’s not strictly true. Super Mario 64 is 4:3, though the resolution/textures are a lot better than the N64 original. Super Mario Sunshine, originally released in ...

Re: Coronavirus - Strange times
I completely understand where you're coming from on that one. It's been a hard slog since the Brexit process where being a tv pres enthusiast and a news geek have been challenging when the news content has been so hard to digest.
Most of my news content today was through listening to the 20 ...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread
Did anyone look at the 2019 shop summary on the app? I'm apparently a 35% Chilled Sainsbury's shopper.
Fantastic use of customer data there - my friends and family were having a good laugh at the stats it was throwing out.
Supposedly I'm a big buyer of red onions, natural yoghurt and broccoli ...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand
A bit of an odd one, but Frankie and Benny's have gone back to the old logo that they changed in January 2018 - and seem to have toned down some the new, more playful branding they introduced at the time. It was a bit jarring at the time and didn't really fit with the old New York diner theme most ...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread
I’d be interested to know how you will checkout for this. Currently the store has no obvious room to install a bank of Smart Shop checkouts like I’ve seen in other already enabled stores unless they took out some manned checkouts. Perhaps the new barcode scanners at the manned checkouts will ...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread
I saw an internal document lying around near the self checkouts of my regular store that said the app based Smart Shop was being launched there in early November.
Not sure if this is rolling out across the country, but I’d be interested to know how you will checkout for this. Currently the store has ...

Re: The Unofficial Sainsbury's Thread
Apologies if I've missed it being mentioned already but Sainsbury's have been pushing Nectar (using the updated branding) heavily in stores this week, and with a new app too.
Interestingly, the app provides a barcode to scan your card in-store (much like Tesco has done with Clubcard for AGES ...
