Back in the middle of November the BBC said to me in an email that Lillibullero would be returning soon so perhaps this is them testing something before going back to the old TOTH with Lillibullero every 4 hours.

Definitely gone, I recorded 24 hours of the Africa web stream and it wasn't played once whereas it used to be played about every 4 hours.

I hope they include some of the features from Network Africa to make it a more interesting programme. I listen to it sometimes either via the stream online or shortwave (17830khz from 7:00GMT is very clear for me) and features like proverb of the day, the music segments and Resident Presidents would ...

It will probably have more content actually broadcast from Africa in the programme. The only bit from Africa except reports on Network Africa is the news bulletin which are often read by Tom Jappani in the Nairobi studio.

That recording was from 12010khz at midnight UK time (2300GMT) which is from the East Asia relay station in Thailand. Bow Bells is played every night on that frequency and at the start of the it broadcast is received quite well in the UK but gets progressively worse throughout the hour.
