I saw on one of Sky News’ live thread things on their website a few days ago, someone complaining that they got to the till only to be told you can’t use contactless and that they should be putting signs out to say so.

A) I think the staff have bigger things to be dealing with at the moment then ...

Admitting my ignorance but what's the difference between DAB and DAB +?

The roll has a red line on it when it gets near the end but the staff aren’t going to know that for the self service tills are they?

Sainsbury's actually let you do phone scan-and-shop in the big stores as well. Again though, I find it easier to use the device because you can keep it in its holster and just scan the items that way.

Nine years (!) since the last post in this thread, DAB+ has truly taken off in the UK, to the point where from next month the only vanilla DAB stations left on the Digital One multiplex will be LBC and Talk Sport.

I find it interesting only because when I started this thread in 2011, I didn't think ...

The M&S app has a ‘scan as you shop’ function for the food hall with Apple Pay integrated, so no need to visit the checkout at all. It’s extremely handy when just nipping in for one or two things at lunchtime when even the self-checkout queues can be lengthy.
