Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

I think I’m the only person who doesn’t like those ‘ITV in the Face’ videos that get posted whenever someone brings up the subject of vintage ITV.

Re: Adverts that irritate and entertain

Nationwide continues its impressively consistent run of awful adverts with the most annoying stand-up comedians ever. Seriously though, on one of them there is a weird production choice where the last joke is made, cue audience laughter, it then cuts to the Nationwide endboard but… we can still hear...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

I'm avoiding the place today. While I'm interested in what's been done, the childish wingeing from some of the posters over there have taken all the enjoyment out of seeing something new. It's going to be hell when they all find out their imagined changes aren't happening. I'm sure some of them sti...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

I’ve just noticed, after reading back the Top Gear thread for the latest series, that the user ‘ttt’ got banned or had their account disabled at the start of the month, and went back and wiped the first page of their posts:

In 1924, when this was posted: Have just given the first demonstration of my television apparatus, constructed from a tea chest, biscuit tin and sealing wax. I transmitted the image of...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Yeah, that Abbey branding was really fresh at the time considering how banks are usually marketed.

BTW I don't think that old old logo there is accurate, it was updated at some point before it was dropped with an updated typeface.

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

Where's Araminta Kane when you need him? He'll figure out some loose connection between the cancellation of Heartbeat and the fall of New Labour or something as equally ridiculous.

My favourite quote of his recently was that the entire year of 2006 was the 'absolute nadir of Western popular culture'
