Re: Another High Street Rebrand
So, less than ten years after it fled the mobile market like a pig from a gun, BT are gunning for EE, which has only recently rebranded from Orange/T-Mobile. All this to fulfil their lofty aim to deliver the UK's second-best quad-play service. How the mighty have fallen. Why didn't they go for O2 i...

Re: Yet another phone thread
I've got the 8.1 Preview as well, Cortana isn't to bad. It even sings you a song if you ask it to. I'm looking at the OnePlus One device as my next purchase when they get released seeing as the specs within it are beyond good and at such a low price it would be mad not to get one... Be very careful...

Re: The Windows Phone thread
So, are there still various limitations that could put people off? By this I mean, is Windows Phone still tainted by a lack of apps, creating quite a sterile Marketplace, meaning that it can't match it's competitors because it doesn't have the apps to do so? Is it not catching on simply because it'...

Re: Microsoft Surface
I can't wait to finally find out one of these puppies will cost. It's immensely frustrating that Surface was announced four months ago, yet we're still waiting to find out full details of pricing and availability. It's amazing that no-one even seems to have a ball-park idea of how much it will cost ...

Re: 4GEE
So... and forgive my ignorance on this subject... if they could convert space in 900Mhz why can't they just shunt some 2G/3G people off 1800 onto 900 and then use the freed up space at 1800 for 4G instead? Sadly, we have reached the limits of my knowledge on this matter. *watches tumbleweed blow pa...

Re: 4GEE
From what I've been told, Vodafone's spectrum will be compatible with the 5; O2's however will not so unless O2 can sweet talk Apple, its subscribers will never get 4G on their iPhone 5. EE reports record number of porting from O2 this morning (the earliest opportunity since launch day for porting ...

Re: Windows 8
it's not that i'm against change when those changes have inherent productivity benefits, but i'm not convinced that the changes here have many advantages for the desktop user - if i'm reading your post correctly, you say that you can get away without using the start screen - granted - that's possib...

Re: Windows 8
It certainly doesn't seem to be getting many positive reviews. The biggest complaint seems to be that they've changed things that used to be simple, and made them difficult to do. That and the fact that it isn't exactly intuitive. It is really hard to find out how to do simple things in some of the...

Re: Phone dilemma
I'm still gutted that HP ballsed up WebOS as much as they did - it was pretty nice. Me too - there was a lot to love in webOS. The UI was beautifully designed and easy to get stuck into it, and although there were a few flaws, these weren't insurmountable by any means. I'm very pleased that webOS l...

Re: Phone dilemma
I have only heard negative comments about BlackBerry phones in the past few months - phones breaking for no reason, the tendency for them to slow down to a crawl, and general lagging behind the competition. A comment from a friend summed it up for me - "I miss Android". This was coming fr...
