Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

So these Tesco's where they've closed the fresh food counters, do they actually have any plans to do anything with this space?

Re: Brexit

I think an election is the only way forward. Tories can stand on a manifesto that involves taking us out of the EU (led by a real Brexit leader), Labour can pledge to stay in. Whoever wins then has the mandate to proceed. Chance to put the arguments forward throughout the campaign and people to mak...

Re: Brexit

Cameron offered the referendum to neutralise the effect that UKIP was having on the Conservative vote not just because of a few dissenting Euro Sceptic Tory MP's. And it worked in the short term as he won in 2015 with a majority. But it spectacularly backfired as what was entirely a Tory party probl...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Tesco are rolling out this 'Bulk Buys' section in 12 stores. Basically clearing out a section of the store for these cash & carry style offers with mega-sized boxes of Daz, boxes of Fairy Liquid, bags of 600 tea bags, mega multi-packs of crisps with 50 bags etc.... https://up.metropol247.co.uk/S...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

The plan appears to be for some House of Fraser stores to become 'Flannels'. The higher end brand of the Ashley empire.

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

Not really 'pre-ordering' that is it, more like 'pre-selection' given that the order isn't placed until you scan the QR code in the branch. I guess they don't take payment up front in the event they don't have something that you asked for. So really you are just placing the order in branch same as e...

Re: The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

Is the 'Argos-isation' / modernisation of McDonalds with touch screens and table service now nearing completion ? Or are there loads of old school ones still out there?

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Which brands / chains do people think are crying out out for a change or a rebranding ? To me Boots is looking extremely tired and dated. The whole store concept requires a complete overhaul it doesn't seem to have evolved at all for well over a decade.

The Very Official McDonalds (and other fast food outlets) Thread

Can we talk about McDonalds ? Feel free to talk about other fast food establishments but I think Metropol needs this thread. So I've had cause to frequent a few McD's since the rollout of this new self ordering kiosk & table service which appears to be nearing universal coverage. Hasn't the serv...
