Re: Coronavirus - Strange times

I am very bored of masks. But I am also very bored of mask discourse.

Sigh.

Re: The TSB & Lloyds Bank relaunch news and information board

Yeah my TSB account, which I've had since I was 5, is now just a backup / savings bucket. I use Monzo for day to day. A few family members still use it but they're basically online only apart from cheques. Even then one of the Tyneside based relatives just uses the branch in Newcastle city centre to...

Re: Masks

Masks mandatory again as of tomorrow. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/explainers-52530518 It'll be interesting to see if the stricter rules in England result in stricter compliance in Scotland. Despite the masks remaining mandatory up here the whole time there's been fewer people wearing them. Perhaps i...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Zebra is the one you're after. The second gen Tesco ones are Windows as the main unlock screen still runs Windows CE, and awful it is too. It's some form of terminal server app which is very laggy to the touch and occasinally crashes. yes that's it! They didn't replace the main unlock screens, just...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

Are they the Android-based ones? They're the ones I've used most recently in M&S and Asda, though the Asda one seemed to occasionally fail to beep on scanning. Altering the quantity wasn't too difficult though. The ones at asda are garbage. They're the same hardware as the second gen Tesco ones...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

So we now appear to be on the third generations of scan as you shop guns. My tesco, having had them first, held onto the motorola first gen devices with a 2D barcode scanner until about two weeks ago when they were upgraded to the third gen. (Second gen had a 3D scanner and were quicker but had the ...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

The new B&Q self scan tills are very good. Far better than the disastrous old Nixdorf ones they used to have, and eventually took out of use. But yes they also involve removing more manned checkouts than required for the space.
