Re: Public Transport in your particular part of the region

Also, the vast majority of GWR's 'Castle Set' short-formed HSTs which are supposed to be full refurbishments with electric plug doors and retention toilets to comply with new legislation are so far nothing more than FGW-liveried HST stock shortened to 4 carriages but otherwise unchanged from their ...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

On a related note, my local Lidl recently had a minor refit (it only opened 4 years ago) and I was surprised to see a German shopfitting company doing the work, with several German-registered Transit vans in the car park. I wonder why Lidl found that cost-effective, compared to using British shopfi...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Does anyone know anything about ‘Books & Stationers Limited’, it seems to be a company that runs some WHSmith stores. I note this from a receipt I got from WHS where the info on the back makes no reference to WHSmith and even gives a customer service email address customer.[email protected]...

Re: Another High Street Rebrand

Nando's meanwhile have changed all their crockery and introduced new style sauce bottles. The new plates are actually great and really make the food look better than the older ones. Didn't realise how dated they were until the new ones appeared. One issue however is they are now storing their perina...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

I'm avoiding the place today. While I'm interested in what's been done, the childish wingeing from some of the posters over there have taken all the enjoyment out of seeing something new. It's going to be hell when they all find out their imagined changes aren't happening. I'm sure some of them sti...

https://twitter.com/BBCArchive/status/1146316393467523072 Out of interest, what is the general consensus as to when the 'heyday' of this forum was, when it was at its peak? In 1924, when this was posted: Have just given the first demonstration of my television apparatus, constructed from a tea chest...
