Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Looks like Poundland are running these shops with a very light touch rebranding: https://www.sloughobserver.co.uk/news/23824921.wilko-reopens-poundland-today-maidenhead-high-street/ I imagine it's temporary but I expected them to close and put their normal fit out(which isn't especially elaborate) ...

Waitrose aren't happy about Asda adopting a range with Essentials in the name: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-60862940 Weird choice having the 'ASDA' lettering huge and the 'just essentials' lettering tiny. Like M Savers mk1 I'm not sure it's clear enough that it's the budget tier rather than t...

Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Judging by the statements made by some landlords, Wilko are announcing the closures and negotiating afterwards. I find Wilko a very useful store but I'm often frustrated at the frequency my local store (Cardiff City Centre) switches its departments around meaning it takes an eternity to find things....

Asda's new advertising is much improved since the takeover. They've ditched that embarrassing "ASDA Superfan" campaign (if you can even call it that) and it's finally clicked that the Asda Price pocket tapping was the strongest messaging they ever had. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnWUY...
