Re: High Street chain collapse sweepstake

Yup, they're toast. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-50309542 Blimey. In amongst all this, I missed the news that Mothercare sold the Early Learning Centre to The Entertainer earier this year - which is good because their own brand toys are generally pretty good. I think I'll maybe keep an eye o...

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

The Tesco Express I use with self service, you have to ask the cashier to give you a bag. An interesting quirk is that the security guard is allowed to go into the staff interface if there's a problem with the scales or if a customer wants to remove a product. Same at my local. Also the security gu...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

Gosh that Switched On was infuriating.

I saw 'was' because he'll be no doubt banned by the time most people see this.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

There doesn't seem to be any consistency when it comes to carrier bags on tills at Tesco Express stores in particular. Some days they're on a hook behind the tills so you have to ask for them and other days they're on the tills. It's not difficult to circulate baskets from a handful of tills to at l...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

On the subject of packing area dividers, I'm pretty sure this video shows a Tesco store with them:

The carrier bags suggest it's a Tesco anyway. The store itself looks very yellow like a Morrisons.

Re: The Tesco & other non-Morrisons supermarket thread

In my local Tesco Metro the tills are so clustered together it's often difficult to see from the queue when one becomes available unless you're really trying hard to see (which of course most people don't). I'm amazed they don't number each till and have an automated call out system rather than havi...

Re: TV Forum Watch News and Information Board

What is JKDerry exactly? He writes these long posts where he seems to make out he knows what he's on about but it largely seems to be stuff he's read on TV Forum reworded into endless, repeating posts. You'd almost think he used to work in TV but I don't think he has and he's just making assumption...

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

It's supposed to have a bigger range, because the stores are bigger than standard Icelands. In practice I'm not convinced that's actually the case though. No, the primary purpose is to sell bigger packs rather than more variety. This is probably why they attract large families that stand to save mo...

What did I miss for Brekkie to be banned for a week?
I'd imagine for getting overexcited about Brexit again. He has previously been warned.

Re: Yet another Morrisons thread

didn't Safeway have packing area dividers 25 years ago? Iceland had them in the 90s for sure. I have a feeling Kwik Save or Food Giant might have too. Distinctly remember playing with them as a child. I'm pretty sure Kwik Save didn't have them as their checkouts were really short so that the items ...
