Upload Service Terms
The Metropol Upload Service ("Upload Service", "Service") is provided by Metropol 24/7 for users of the Metropol and TV Forum sites
to upload files to help make their forum posts more interesting without having to make use of complex third party systems and restrictive
commercial upload sites.
To use the service you are required to sign up for a Metropol Account. Although this is a forum account there is no obligation to post on
the forum if you do not wish to do so. The reason for this measure is to stop those who may wish to anonymously use the service for other reasons
such as hosting files not aimed at the forums. In addition to this it allows us to track uploaders of files in case we have any users trying to
upload things that they should not. On the upside it also allows you a list of your own files for ease of finding them in the future.
All uploads are logged and recorded against your username in the database. If you delete a file, references to it will remain in the database
for the Metropol administrators to refer to if they feel the need arises.
There is a 20MB limit on files uploaded to the service. This is both to prevent straining the server and to discourage users from uploading overly
large files. If you have a legitimate reason to upload a larger file, please use the contact page to enquire about whether this is possible.
This service is NOT to be used as a personal upload service or as a replacement for rapidshare, megaupload or sites similar to those. Any attempt
to use this service for such purposes may result in immediate and permanent banning from the service, Metropol and possibly even TV Forum
Files will remain on the server indefinitely unless you delete the file yourself. Files will not be deleted after a set time frame. We reserve the
right to delete without notice any file we feel is breaking the rules or spirit of the upload service.
Linking to files from other sites is not currently blocked, we do not see an issue if another site such as digitalspy reuses the odd image, however
if this becomes excessive or users are found to be uploading for the benefit of other sites rather than Metropol or TV Forum this policy may be reversed.
Uploading copyrighted data without permission - such as songs, fonts and images - is illegal. Don't steal these things. Any files we find that are unlicensed
but copyrighted material will be removed without notice or warning.
Deviation from these rules will result in at least a warning and potentially banning from the service, Metropol or TV Forum
Remember this is Metropol's webspace and this service is provided out of the generosity of the Metro staff. We reserve the right to remove any file(s) at our
sole discretion and will immediately remove any file we find to be objectionable, unsuitable, or otherwise in violation of our contract with our hosting provider.
By clicking the "Send File" button, you automatically accept any sort of legal responsibility for the content of the media file you post. This includes -- but is
not limited to -- the cost of any legal action that may arise in connection with the file that you upload.

We reserve the right to change, modify, or otherwise alter these restrictions at any time.
These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Scotland which shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.
