Why won’t my TVF details work here?

Metropol is a separate site, on a separate server with a separate database, therefore you need to sign up again for us. Hopefully it should be even quicker than signing up for TV Forum as you’ll have already thought of your username and password.

Why do I have to sign in to see posts?

There’s a few reasons but mainly so it encourages new signups at TVF to sign up for here and get posting.

I just registered two minutes ago but cannot login!

Have you activated your account using the link we emailed you? If not, then you need to do this first. If you did not receive an e-mail, you may have provided an incorrect e-mail address or the e-mail may have been picked up by a spam filer. If you are sure the e-mail address you provided is correct and you’re still having no success, contact us.

Why do I get logged off automatically?

If you do not tick the “Log me in automatically” box when you login, the board will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, tick the box during login. This is not recommended if you access the board from a shared computer, e.g. library, internet cafe, university computer lab, etc, as a certain Mr Spiring once discovered…

I registered in the past but cannot login any more. Why?

We clear out the list of unactivated users after about a month to keep the database tidy. If you didn’t ever activate your account its likely this has happened and you’ll have to register again. If you were a fully fledged member before and cannot log in, try resetting your password in case you’ve forgotten it. If you’re still having trouble contact us.

Why can’t I register?

It is very unusual for registration to be turned off on Metropol. If it is, the reason will have been posted in the Media Websites forum on TVF.

What does “Delete all board cookies” do?

“Delete all board cookies” deletes the cookies created by phpBB which keep you authenticated and logged into the board. If you are having login or logout problems, deleting board cookies may help.
